The Jacket (conocida en Latinoamérica como Regresiones de un muerto) es una película de John Maybury estrenada en 2005. Massy Tadjedin escribió el guion basándose en una historia de Tom Bleecker y Marc Rocco, quienes se basaron en la novela The jacket (1915), de Jack London (1876-1916), en el que una persona experimentaba viajes en el tiempo extracorpóreas mientras se encontraba atada con una camisa de fuerza. La novela fue publicada en Reino Unido con el nombre The jacket y en EE. UU. con el nombre The star rover (el vagabundo de las estrellas).

The Jacket is a 2005 psychological thriller film directed by John Maybury that is partly based on the Jack London novel of the same name, released in the US as The Star Rover.[1] Massy Tadjedin wrote the screenplay based on a story by Tom Bleecker and Marc Rocco. The original music score is composed by Brian Eno and the cinematography is by Peter Deming.

After miraculously recovering from a bullet wound to the head, Gulf War veteran Jack Starks (Adrien Brody) returns to Vermont in 1992, suffering from periods of amnesia. During one of these incidents he is found on a deserted roadside with a dead policeman, the murder weapon, and a slug from the policeman’s gun in Starks’ body. Starks is found not guilty by reason of insanity, and is incarcerated in a mental institution.
Starks becomes subject to the experiments of Dr. Thomas Becker (Kris Kristofferson), a psychiatrist.
